Why we built itThe mobile crisis with our kids has troubled me — and most of the parents I know — for a long time now. When I looked closely at the solutions out there, it didn't take long to see they were all flawed.
Google Family Link, Apple Screen Time, Kids Place, Qustodio, Bark — for all the noise they make, they're built on old architecture, constantly retrofitted for a problem they never saw coming. And the problem is still here. Today.
Big Tech continues to do a number on our children. From the moment they get a smartphone — for most kids, by the age of 11 — they're targeted, harvested, profiled. They become the product the whole attention economy runs on. The well-documented damage to their mental health, focus and learning has been devastating.
Until now, no one has built an app that Big Tech simply can't reach, and that kids will still happily keep in their pockets. We believe QT Phone is that solution.
We're parents too. Our mission isn't to monetise the anxiety Big Tech created — it's to stop them messing up the childhoods of another generation. That's going to take the best people, building the best possible solution — and never standing still. We start here in Catalunya, where QT was born. Then Europe, and further afield.
